1-B Studio offers a custom-made service to turn your photos into paintings.

Paintings have a unique charm that is different from photos. Why not turn beautiful scenery from your travels or the town you used to live in into a painting to decorate your home?

This painting is displayed in my home and was the first one I created in my current style.

After deciding to leave New Zealand and return to Japan, I wanted to hang a painting of Wellington, the city I had lived in, in my Japanese home. However, I couldn’t find one I liked, so I decided to paint it myself.

Now, it hangs in the most prominent place in my living room.

Process of Ordering a Custom-Made Painting

To be honest, if I wanted someone to draw a picture for me, I would find it hard to “pay first and then get the picture.” This is because I don’t know what the picture will look like.

So, I don’t ask for money before I start drawing for you. You can see the finished picture first. If you like it, then you can pay.

Here are the steps we will follow:

Size

I draw pictures in A1 size (594mm x 841mm). But you can print them in other sizes too. The pictures are digital, so the size can be changed easily. I can also draw pictures that are not A1 shape. For example, I can make them longer, taller, or square. Just tell me what shape you want before I start.

Price

The price changes based on how long it takes to make the picture. I will ask about your budget first, aThe price changes based on how long it takes to make the picture. I will ask about your budget first, and then I will make the picture to fit that budget. For example, a simple picture like the one on the left costs about 30,000 to 40,000 yen. A detailed picture like the one on the right costs about 60,000 yen. The price includes:

• Original picture data that you can use for business

If you need a printed copy, please look below. This is a bit technical, but the original picture data will be in CMYK 300dpi, and I can give it to you as jpg, png, or psd file.

Unlike paintings on canvas, the package includes image data. This allows you to create shop cards, original tote bags, and more (commercial use is allowed).

Benefits of Digital Data

Digital data has benefits that paper drawings don’t have.

First, you can print the data freely. You can print many times. If the color fades, you can print again.

Also, you can change the size easily. It’s hard to scan a shop card well. But with data, it’s easy to print in any size you want.

You can also enjoy different types of paper. You can print on smooth white paper. Or you can try printing on Japanese washi paper with a special texture. This can be interesting too.

I can deliver printed pictures on paper

Some people might say, “I don’t know how to use the picture data or where to print it.” For these people, I can send a printed picture on paper. (Of course, I will also send the data by email.)

The price for printing depends on the size, type of paper, and printing method. I will only charge you about the same as what it costs me.

If you tell me “I want the finished picture printed,” I will talk to the printing company for you. I will also check the final print to make sure it looks good.

Creating Goods with the Painting

I can add logos, company names, or personal names to the painting and create print data for business cards, postcards, tote bags, and more. Please consult me about the pricing for creating print data.

Payment

You can pay in two ways:

1. Pay half the price before I start. Then pay the rest after I finish.
2. Pay the full price before I start.

Please note: If you don’t like the finished picture, I cannot give back the first payment.
